Why should I choose Apex Roofing, Inc. over another roofing contracting company?

Our philosophy has and always will be to provide outstanding service and treat each customer as we would our own family. Thirty years of providing consistent prideful craftsmanship, strong work ethics and direct involvement by the owners has resulted in a solid, professional reputation that we stand by.

How long has Apex Roofing, Inc. been in business?

Apex Roofing was started in 1980. We have had thousands of satisfied customers over the years. Due to our ethics and integrity, we have had no unresolved concerns about our work!

Does Apex Roofing use subcontractors?

Absolutely not. We have one well-seasoned crew to complete our roofing projects? Unfortunately the roofing industry has changed to most companies subcontracting their work out. Speed is emphasized. At Apex Roofing, we emphasize attention to details, methodical conscientious installation procedure’s and intense supervision for your roof project.

Is Apex Roofing family owned?

Yes. It is owned and operated by Pat & Teresa Davidson. We currently have, and over the past 3 decades have used other family members on our crew. Our livelihood depends on reputation and quality of work, and we take pride in this.

How much does it cost to replace a roof?

There is no simple answer to how much the bottom line will be for your roofing project. A bid from your contractor should be based on square footage, the pitch of roof, accessibility, type of roofing material needed, 1- or 2-story home, removal of old roof (if necessary), roof permit and and labor. The average cost to replace a roof runs from approximately $2.500.00 to $12,000.00 depending on the size of the roof and the quality of the workmanship and materials.

Should I have my chimney looked at before I have roof work done?

If the chimney requires any maintenance or repair, the best time to work on it is before a new roof is installed. Coordinate the chimney mason with the roofing contractor and yourself to make sure all chimney flashing and chimney repairs are completed properly before the new roof is installed. Apex Roofing can assist you with the coordination of these projects.

How do I know when I need a new roof?

When evaluating composition roofing look for gradual loss of granules that may accumulate in the gutters. As the roof ages you may notice that the edges of the shingles start to curl or split. This is caused by the asphalt leaching out of the shingle over many years.

What measures are taken by Apex to protect my home and landscaping during the roof removal or repair?

We are very conscientious and have many techniques to protect your property. We strive to keep most the roof debris from falling to the ground, by using plywood, tarps and good judgment to protect your siding, landscape, gutters and outdoor lighting.

Do you use stapes or nails?

Though some companies use staples to install their shingles because it is cheaper, Apex only uses treated roofing nails specifically made for roofing. Nails will secure the shingles to the roof deck better and you will have less chance of your shingles blowing off from high winds.

What causes the stains on my old roof?

The stains you see on your old roof are a result of algae growth. More time than not this algae growth is more prevalent on the North and East facing slopes, due to less sun exposure. Apex shingles are treated to resist algae, to prevent the staining.

What is an ice dam?

An ice dam is an area on the roof that tends to build up with ice. Water can then back up under the shingles. This is a direct result from poor ventilation and constricted drainage areas. Apex can often eliminate ice dams through ventilation and installation of ice shield along the eaves , valleys and other roof projections.

If my roof leaks, will there be long term damage?

A leaking roof cannot be ignored as it often causes serious damage to other components of your home, not to mention the possibility of mold. A leaking roof should be looked at immediately. Apex is available to inspect to your home, free of charge, and give you an honest opinion.

What will Apex do to protect my plants and lawn from being damaged?

Apex takes pride in protecting your plants and shrubs. We realize how important your home is to you. We protect your yard with tarps, plywood to deflect debris, good judgment and even run a specialized magnet roller throughout your yard as part of the clean-up process to assure no hidden rusty nails.

How does hail damage a roof?

Unfortunately, hail knocks the protective granules off the shingles. This action then exposes the mat beneath. Once the mat is exposed to the natural elements, such as wind and sun, the shingle will rapidly start to degrade. Apex can inspect your roof for any natural disaster that damages your roof. We are available on short notice to assist your families roofing needs.

Do I have to be home during the roofing work?

It is not necessary to be home during the roofing work. All roofing work is done on the exterior of your home. However, we encourage you to observe all aspects of our craftsmanship during the process of improving your home.
